Alex's Audio Diary 19

Many a times we under estimate the "POWER of MEDITATION". We fail to realise that for us to induce a MODE of consciousness or self regulate our MINDS away from clutter to focus on positive goals, we need to tap into an internal source that involves our internal EFFORT at sustained mental concentration. The goal of Meditation is to FOCUS and quiet ones mind to wipe away STRESS, receive inner PEACE and achieve CLARITY for ones vision. Please LISTEN to my Audio Diary for today....

Feel free to share your thoughts on what prayer or meditation means to you, And how it benefits you, if it does at all. Don't forget to share with others and connect with me on Twitter: @AlexOkoroji. Wishing all my Muslim Friends and Loyal ABC readers a Happy Eid Fitri. Enjoy!

Obsessive Christianity Disorder (OCD)

I'm at my family house and there's some sort of excitement here, well my aunt who was locked up in her church for close to 15 years and had been brainwashed by some mean dated DOCTRINE which made her abandon her family and children for that long.....finally set herself free from the clutches of religion. After seeing some of the evil orientation some people undergo in the name of christ, I can't help wondering if the world is really that hopeless....And I mean no disrespect to my friends or family with OCD (Obsessive Christianity Disorder) vying for God's attention.

But I don't believe that Jesus didn’t die so we could have 'religion'. He died so we could have a deep, INTIMATE, personal relationship and communion with God.

I don't believe ones regular attendance in church, the number of times ONE reads their bibles per day or the number of BBM broadcasts one sends everyday in God's name reflects who LOVES him more and who truly deserves his blessings...

Just as we all have different ways we go about our other relationships, so different people have their own personal way they DISCOVER God and commune with him...And He loves each and every one of us as if there were only one of us.

I personally believe that 'God is the God of All or he is not God at all'...There is no SEMI-SOVEREIGN where he is concerned. Whether  you are Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Christian or whatever other religion you practise. He will judge us all by our faith, ACTIONS and the contents of our hearts.

There are people who are really looking to know God and build a relationship with him. Don't CONFUSE them with your different interpretation of his words or mislead them with your many doctrines...and stop making it burdensome, scary and tough for people to see the true BEAUTY in God's divine love.

I have seen Religion destroy many lives and RUIN many families...and I have seen people carry the weight of false teaching, WARPED understanding and fake promises.

If you want to inspire others to know God then let your 'Life, TRIALS and way of living' be an example and the living testimony of God's work and who He truly is...Nothing more!

I have chosen to stop telling people who God is, I'll simply SHOW them. All they need to do is look closely at my life and they will recognise him present, working my miracles everyday.

Have An Amazing Sunday Lovelies! Kisses!

How I Miss Those Days....

I don't know what's WRONG with me today....but I guess that little trip the gorgeous talented HUNK and a half, Joseph Benjamin took us, text serenading the BBM group with popular TV commercials from yester years took me back 15 years....but Dang! I really miss those days...I miss the days of hot PANTS, open back tops, micro minis, platforms and my TINTED red hair...

I miss the days of wearing ANITA BAKER, Evelyn King and Mama-mayowa sticking my head between her thighs with the familiar STENCH of her private regions masking my juvenile face as she WEAVES my hair for school. Yikes! Oh how I miss the days of kwili-kwili, samco and go-go (oh don't laugh) and hey I was the very best at ten-ten...and "Catch Her"....oh sorry that's what you all call "Hide and Seek". Hehehe.

I miss the days when I had three best friends, an under ground MUSIC group and lots of male CRUSHES. Oh how I miss those days... The days I wanted to be Beyonce Knowles of 'Destiny's child', a member of the '702' group or even the lead song writer of the 'All Saints' Band...

I miss the days of dancing 'Atilogu', 'Ati-ero', 'Igbo cultural', 'Yoruba cultural dance' and traditional groups that involved borrowing my mothers FISH EYE wrappers. I must have worn them out from all these DANCE troupes I worked so hard to fit in...Hahahah.

I miss the days I was PRINCESS of pink house, CAPTAIN of blue house,  CUP BEARER of green house and finally QUEEN of the green house during inter house sport competitions.... The days when I won 'Most Attractive Girl', or when I finally got the 'Most Beautiful Girl' Award and those silly wonkers missed the correct spelling of 'beautiful' on my award plaque...Hahahah and yet  I was dancing for joy cos there were many others just as beautiful in my high school, if not more.

The days of EXPRESSION and FREEDOM...days when I was the only junior in MUSIC club, DRAMA club and PRESS club. Oh how I miss those days, days no matter which school I was... I danced for LIFE and sang for JOY. Days when I mimed to Janet Jackson's "I Get So Lonely" or Ginuwines 'pony'.... The Days when Keith Sweat "Nobody" had me wondering about LOVE  and curious about SEX. The days when I thought 'Pink' first album was the ish... .And LAURYN HILL was the second coming of Jesus...Sweet jesus, that woman could sing, act and rap for universe.

I miss the days when I used to SNEAK my dad's CD copy of Billy ocean, Stevie Wonder, Al Green and Donna Hataway to school... The Days when I could sing every song word for word and re-enact every MOVIE scene line for line...Oh! Those were the days.

The Days when 'School Fathers' wanted to be boyfriends, 'Boyfriends' wanted to be 'Lovers' and love was a picture of only one young man I imagined I would love for the rest of my life. (Hahahah) What a silly tease.

The Days when I thought I wanted to be a DOCTOR and my ARTISTRY was just a hobby...Days when I passed 'Physics' and hated it....but failed 'French' and I loved it (sorta....the male French teacher was just too cute). The days when "Adaeze" was easier to pronounce than "Alexandra" for some ... And when Daddy and I solved further maths or cooked coconut Rice with peanuts in them. Yeah! Those are the days I miss!

I miss the days I was BOLD enough to walk up to another FEMALE and innocently say "Hey I like you, Can we be friends..." Nthenya, do you remember? That's how met....And days I could easily say "No! I don't want you to be my boyfriend" Sorry Omoruyi... That's right! I remember saying that as well. Days it was okay to date for a full year without SEX...and being a VIRGIN was such a big deal. Lol.

The days when Mama Junior was my neighbour, Aunty Meg, my favourite God mother and Coca-cola never made me FAT. Lol. I miss the days I used to trade in my morning BREAD in exchange for SUNDAY rice, pleated skirts were SEXY and school boys were Brad Pitt. I miss them days.

Days when everyone loved to read my little amature NOVELS, debate was a fun past time and 'English' was my favourite subject after BIOLOGY of course...(Who didn't? The Male Reproductive Organ) I miss those days. (Ha! Mr Lawal where are you oh).

The days when Festac was 'Newyork', Akure was 'Liberia' and 'Okija' seemed like 'Iraq' to me. Lol. The days when managing my Mother's business was a major part of my life and Fashion designing was a SECRET talent. And I wasn't afraid to MANAGE a business with 22 staffs all older than me...Those were the days.

The days when I thought I would be Happily Married at 21 with 4 kids and the Perfect husband...and a perfect family. ( Hahahah, a Decade after, what a trip) those really were the days.

The days when RESPONSIBILITY was keeping an eye on my younger ones and freedom was an evening stroll on 'Unity Drive'... The days when writing 'Poetry' was easy peas and writing songs felt as easy as me breathing...The days Acting on STAGE was another world but a world that embraced me completely. I miss those days...

The days when 'one million braids' were so cool and I didn't give a hoot about buying human hair cos I had my own real "20 inches" tucked underneath. (oh chai!)...the days I was an extra small with the perfect C cup and nice rounded hips to balance...oh! Those days!

The days I could drink raw eggs, eat four noodles, a bowl of ice cream and my stomach will still be flat as an ironing board...Chai! Na wa!...I miss those days we didn't have BBM, mobile phones or even internet...Yet I never missed a friend.

I miss the days I was young, innocent and yet so free. Free from PAIN, responsibilities, challenges and STRESS. Today I really miss the days of my youth...the YOUTH we take for granted because we assume we will always have it...So many years have passed and I have evolved a lot from the person, who had all these many talents, DREAMS and desire to conquer it all...but its okay to remind myself that I once lived...and I can LIVE again.

P.S: Take your own trip down MEMORY lane...and remind yourself that you too can live again.

Have A Terrific Tuesday Lovelies! Kisses!

MARKET UPDATES

Money Market

Following June’s FAAC (monthly statutory) inflows on Friday, NIBOR declined 14bps on the average across all maturities, with the Overnight rate down 13bps to 10.50%.

Fixed Income Market

Largely fuelled by the improved liquidity, trading in the T-bills market sustained upbeat momentum which started last week Thursday. Though demand was observed across most maturities, the mid to long term bills appealed to most investors.
Similarly, trading remained active in the bond market with further price appreciation recorded on traded maturities.
Though system liquidity still appears supportive of further demand, we anticipate a slowdown in momentum as traders await the interest rate decision, and policy guidance from the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting which concludes on Tuesday.

The Nigerian Interbank FX Market

At the RDAS, the CBN increased dollar sales by offering $400 million, maintaining the marginal rate of NGN155.73/$. Total sales amounted to $399.010 million. Having gained 32 kobo this past week, the Naira got off to a negative start at the inter-bank market, depreciating 22 kobo to close at NGN162.20/$.

Nigerian Stock Market Report

Trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on a negative note on Monday as the NSE All Share Index lost 0.25% to close at 42,784.33 points from 42,891.82 on Friday. The market capitalization also dropped to NGN14.127 trillion from NGN14.162 trillion on Friday.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

Russia is defying international pressure to drop its support for separatists in eastern Ukraine following the shooting down of a Malaysia Airlines passenger jet – instead advancing its own narrative suggesting the rebels may be innocent and laying blame for the tragedy on the Ukrainian military. Canada announced a fresh round of sanctions against Russia on Monday, and U.S. President Barack Obama called for Moscow to “pivot away” from the insurgency in Ukraine. But Russian President Vladimir Putin showed no signs of blinking. The Kremlin made a point of announcing that Mr. Putin will convene his Security Council, which includes Russia’s military chiefs, on Tuesday.

Global Currency Update

The dollar was strong against most major currencies Monday as the effects of turmoil in Ukraine, Gaza and Iraq continue to buttress the price of the haven currency against the effects of weak U.S. housing starts data from last week, and doubts that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates earlier than mid-2015. The yen reversed earlier gains against most major currencies, with the dollar buying at ¥101.44 from ¥101.33 late Friday. In other currency crosses, the euro fell against the dollar to $1.3522 from $1.3526 on Friday. The pound also declined, trading at $1.7068, down from $1.7088.

Commodity Market

Crude-oil futures on Monday rose to their highest in nearly three weeks on ongoing geopolitical concerns and as Libya announced a drop in its production.

Gold steadied above the $1,300 an ounce support level on Monday, aided by anticipation of increased geopolitical risks as the United States began demanding answers from Russia after a Malaysian plane was downed in eastern Ukraine.

FEATURE: How Can Any War Be Holy? - Tony Okoroji

As always when I'm at the family house with my folks, we tend to get into a lot of conversation about world news or just our general philosophy on life. If there's anyone in the world who gets how I feel about the crazy happenings all over the world or where I stand on a number of issues, it would be my father because we are both liberals whose faith are founded on nothing but LOVE.....love for God and for mankind as well. I guess that conversation with him and my mother motivated his article for this week. Here's an interesting piece from Tony Okoroji's 'LOCOMOTION' column in today's Saturday Independent Newspaper. Enjoy.....

HOW CAN ANY WAR BE HOLY? – TONY OKOROJI

"Suddenly, hatred appears to be taking over the world. Just this week, there were more and more gory images on television of the mayhem caused by the massive Israeli military machine that appears set to rip to shreds the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Innocent Palestinians, old women and mere children are being slaughtered like cattle in a war in which they are neither participants nor do they understand the reason.

The people responsible for this massacre and their friends can justify this horrific killing field. They can explain it with a lot of grammar especially at the United Nations. They are defending their people! It does not matter to them that the innocent women and children so brazenly murdered are some other person’s ‘people’. We live in a world in which might is right and so the children of the slaughtered old women and the brothers of the murdered children, who probably will never have access to any significant military machine, will eventually turn themselves into suicide bombers and explode themselves on innocent Israeli civilians. And the cycle of blood continues.

Every crazy group in the world unleashing death on everyone around them can justify the killing. It is usually based on an ‘us against them’ mind frame of some spiritual, tribal or political leader who drums up the immense animosity fuelled by some ancient bigotry or hatred.

Talk to any members of the vicious Boko Haram group that is spreading fear across Nigeria and they have religious justification for their senseless killing of innocent men and women. Members of the Al Shabab gang who are gunning down innocent people in East Africa are sure that they are doing God’s work. Whether it is Al Qaeda, ISIS in Iraq and Syria or even the IRA that kept Northern Ireland in commotion for a long time, they will beat their chest and assert justification for the innocent lives they have taken. Check out their justification and it is based on some skewed religious beliefs or some perceived injustice done to their ‘people’ in times gone by.

Nothing frightens me these days more than the seemingly unstoppable spread of fundamentalist religion. Contrary to popular notion, this terrifying development is not limited to the Islamic faith. All over the world, there are self-styled prophets in religious garments indoctrinating masses of people who they will unleash on the world and who would become cannon fodder in their war to rid the world of those who do not agree with them.

All of these ‘men of God’ preach love but the love they preach is not love for all children of God but love only for the people who think like them, pray like them or love like them. If you think differently, you are a vermin which must be exterminated to create a pure world. They have convinced themselves that they are holy warriors fighting God’s battle and that they have the right to kill in the name of God.

But who are these people supposedly fighting in the name of God and killing the children of God? Who told them that God needs their help? Who informed them that they are more effective than God, the maker and giver of life, who if he chooses can wipe out whole nations in a twinkle of an eye? How can a war be holy in which innocent children of God are killed?

Karl Max did say that religion is the opium of the poor. I agree. Take a map of the world and check out the regions where there are fervent religious activities. These are where you will find nations in commotion, in poverty and in decline. Recently, I spent some time in the UK and the United States. Sunday mornings, the streets of the major cities are practically abandoned. The churches are empty except for minority groups. Yet, these are the people from whom we inherited our religious beliefs.

As I stated in this column last week, I had the opportunity of driving on the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway during the week. There are interesting developments on both sides of the road. Apart from the new Punch edifice and a few other structures on the several kilometres of road, nearly every significant structure on the road is owned by a religious group of either the Christian or Islamic faith. If the structure is not a worship centre built on acres of choice land, it is a university owned by the same religious groups. I saw very little in terms of factories or any real centre of commerce.

As we drove along, I wondered what would eventually happen to those who study at the universities from Mondays to Fridays and worship at the churches on Sundays. Where are they going to find work? From where will they earn the money to maintain body and soul and pay tithes to the churches so that they can continue to boom? If you cannot see the looming problem, you are probably one of those who believe that Nigeria just won the World Cup in Brazil.

Before anyone concludes that I am anti – religion, let me state clearly that I am a Christian and that I go to Church. I however do not believe that every Moslem, Hindu, Budhist, Ifa Worshiper or anyone who does not worship the way I do is condemned to hell fire. It is the same way that I do not believe that the people who come from my part of the country are always right and the others are forever wrong. Similarly, I do not believe that when the time comes, it will matter whether you face the east or the west when you worship your God or whether you come from the North or the South or whether you are straight, gay or lesbian. We are all children of one God.

See you next week. "

So what do you think of this amazing article Lovelies? I know that God will not ask any of his children to kill his other children, neither will he want us to segregate or discriminate against others who just like us have been created in his own image. So I ask, How can any war truly be holy? Feel free to share your thoughts as always.....

Why Stay Friends With Your Ex?

So I read this interesting Interview with Zoe Saldana in Marie Claire Magazine. I've admired her since her early days in the movie "Center Stage" playing a dedicated BALLERINA and how she has grown into her own woman. And reading a portion of it and her stance about, having no interest in staying friends with her exes....sort of got my attention and even had me PONDER on her words....

"I have been in relationships where a man has disrespected me, and I don't need to be friends with that man anymore. I don't want to be the one going, 'I'm cool, because I'm friends with all my exes.' There's a reason why you're called an ex. I crossed you off my list. Moving on. You cross a line, you need to know that you're going to walk this earth knowing that there's an individual who has no respect for you."

And the truth is, her theory makes a bit of sense to me, What's the point in still being friends with an ex that disrespected you and made you unhappy the entire time when the relationship was still "on"? Believe me, there's no shame in having loved and lost and for the most part of all my relationships that ended. I have remained a woman with a positive disposition who looks at her past relationships as a collection of quality memories....and I'm constantly learning how to be great at moving on.

I have always stayed friends with all of my exes except one (and that's not because I'm opposed to being friends with him....we simply don't COMMUNICATE....(I'm sad that we don't but I'm grateful somewhat). I have always THOUGHT that staying friends with my exes made me seem stronger, wiser, forgiving and mature....Even that I had moved on and I'm in a HAPPY place. But if you think about it deeply, is that truly the case?

Some will say it's okay to stay friends as long as the relationship ended AMICABLY. But seriously, how many times is a break up mutual or amicable? There's always a party who wants out and another who's still WILLING to try. There's always one who loves more and hurts more....even if they pretend to accept things are over, just to save face and keep their DIGNITY. So how do you stay friends with someone, who didn't treat you good, hurt you or had no RESPECT for you or regards for your feelings?

We constantly use the EXCUSE of not knowing tomorrow and just being good people....while trapping ourselves in a friendship with people who didn't treat us right when they seemingly loved us, yet we expect them to treat us 'better' as just friends?.....Hahahah....My principle has always been that "You should be friends with the one you love.....And friendship should be simply based on pure LOVE...." if I use myself as an example. So many times, when I'm lonely I have fantasised about being back in a relationship with an ex, because I stayed friends with him and we were both available. Why? That fantasy is very convenient for me and oh....the hilarious Law of Okafor may apply...."Once chopped, always chopped.." why not let someone who already has the MAP to my orgasms. (Hahahah) and whilst it's normal to have leftover feelings for someone I never got over....staying in contact with him did nothing but put me in a place of more hurt, loss and damning confusion.

On the outside the friendship is seemingly beautiful. On the inside, someone is still getting hurt.....because if you put a microscope, the friendship is still one sided and the one who cares more will always OVER-COMPENSATE and the one who cares less, will never really care and honestly doesn't give a hoot when it comes right down to it. We hand over the power to them that we somehow can not exist without them in our lives, even if it means hanging on to whatever shred of themselves they can offer us.....THE FRIENDSHIP...Whilst they go along with the farce and enjoy the benefits of a loving heart, and forgiving soul, even if all they have been is an UNREPENTANT jerk or a bitch.

And what about those we try to build new SPARKS with, the ones who should stand a chance to show us we are still WORTHY of love, how will they cope and help us pick up the pieces of our lives, when they have to pick up SIGNALS of left over sparks from our so called friendships of relationships-gone-sour and we act surprised when they become INSECURE, not because they doubt us.....but the fact that they can sense what could go wrong, if you had the opportunity to re-ignite your feelings and re-open reconciliation with the EX.

I never understood why my ex-husband had problems with me being friends with my exes until now, even though I never had a problem with him being friends with his own or even me being somewhat friendly or civil  with them. I agree that not everyone is emotionally strong or mature, and I also NOW believe that one's self RESPECT should even be more important and people should only get what they DESERVE and have earned. If they treated you badly, by all means...forgive them and oh....Yes! FORGET them too. Hahahah.

Move on without them, because they don't deserve to stay in your life and you don't need to put up with PRETENDING it's cool, just to be a good person. There are millions of amazing people you can share your generosity, love and good-will with.  And It had to take a woman like me to open up my mind to see the REALITY for what it is.

Because in truth, you're not going to get a STAR on the walk of fame or an Oscar for being the best EX turned friend....neither are the chances of your ex having a change of heart sprouted by the spurs of friendship. Friendship has a way of making people COMPLACENT. If a relationship didn't make them sit up and care, a friendship will have no effect. Unless you both have truly moved on to a happy committed relationship with someone else. Its bad idea to stay friends with your ex. And that's the damning TRUTH from a guilty SERIAL 'Ex' lover. Hehehe.

Have A Fantastic Friday Lovelies! Kisses!

Hello Lovelies! Still concerned about the reality of what could be happening to your investments and Finances? Well, Get your fix of Today's Sponsored Feature.....The Hedge And Risk Financial Market Report For Thursday July 17, 2014

LOCAL NEWS

The inability of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to again implement a single monetary union next year as earlier planned has been attributed to the failure of member nations to meet the convergence criteria, which has necessitated the ECOWAS Authority Commission to once again shift the new implementation timeline to year 2020. The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele and the Director General of the West African Monetary Institute (WAMI), Dr. Abwakwu Englama, both declared this on Thursday in Abuja, while addressing the 31st Meeting of the Committee of Governors of Central Banks ECOWAS member states that have been attempting to establish a single monetary union, known as the West African Monetary Zone (WAMZ) since 1990. Money Market

With OMO maturities in excess of NGN114 billion improving system liquidity, NIBOR declined for the first time this week, with the Overnight rate dipping 25bps to close at 10.71%.

Fixed Income Market

Buoyed by liquidity, demand increased in the T-bills market with compression in yields observed across most bills. Investor demand was evident across short to mid-tenor papers. With settlement for Wednesday’s auction and RDAS expected on Friday (about NGN145 billion) demand momentum will likely soften in the T-bills market.
Trading in the bond market was relatively subdued, with activities still weighted on the short end of the curve amid expectations of an adjustment in yields towards Wednesday’s bond auction stop rates.

The Nigerian Interbank FX Market

Amid lower dollar demand, the naira strengthened against the dollar, appreciating 10 kobo to close at NGN161.80/$.

Nigerian Stock Market Report

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

A Malaysia Airlines plane carrying 283 passengers and 15 crew crashed Thursday in the battle-torn east Ukraine region of Donetsk, where U.S. intelligence agencies say it was struck by a ground-to-air missile. The U.S. agencies are divided over whether the missile was launched by the Russian military or by pro-Russia separatist rebels, who officials say lack the expertise on their own to bring down a commercial airline in midflight. The disaster comes as a new trauma for Malaysia Airlines, the carrier already at the center of a global mystery over the disappearance in March of one of its flights, another Boeing 777 that went missing en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

Global Currency Update

The dollar maintained a firm ton against the euro but softened against the yen, and was mixed against the Australian dollar on Thursday. The euro traded at $1.3519 late Thursday, little changed from $1.3528 late Wednesday. The dollar fell to ¥101.23 from ¥101.64 Wednesday. The pound slipped to $1.7092 from $1.7139 late Wednesday, while the Australian dollar dipped to 0.9346 U.S. cents from 0.9365 U.S. cents.

Commodity Market

U.S. crude oil jumped by as much as $2 Thursday after a Malaysian airliner crashed over eastern Ukraine on the heels of fresh U.S. sanctions on Russia that had raised geopolitical concerns.

Gold ended the trading session above $1,315 an ounce Thursday on heightened geopolitical tensions and news of more U.S. sanctions against Russia.

Hope you found today's financial report somewhat useful.

FEATURE: My Wednesday Woman Crush - Victoria Nkong

Meeting people, making friends and building quality networks is one part, of my reality as a perceived EXTROVERT and the very nature of my job as an Artist. If I were a man, my somewhat INFATUATION or shall I call it fascination for this rather interesting woman would perhaps border on lots of naughty theories....and thank goodness I'm straight as hell....hehehe. So my ADMIRATION for this young, bubbly, high-spirited and intelligent charmer is based on a lot of substance and depth.

I have hinted a few times about the lady who's stolen my heart and a bit of my time as well, recently....Yes! VICTORIA NKONG is my Wednesday Woman Crush! and not because she strutting her backside in a sexy bikini on some strange remote island or gets knocked up by my favourite Hollywood male crush (I would love for that to happen to me though) Hahahah....but the fact that here's a very young lady who is driven and has accomplished quite a bit as a CREATIVE ENTREPENEUR and is still trying to push the envelope, is quite inspiring to me.

Victoria Nkong, is the CEO of QTABY CONCEPTS which is a consortium of Qtaby Events and Entertainment. She is also the Business Development Executive (BDE) in Nigeria,  for the Famous French Fashion designer, JB Hounyovi and has the franchise to develop and expand his "Lé Braided Couture" a vibrant high end haute couture here in Nigeria.

The multi linguist from a town in Cross River State, Nigeria, who was a former line producer, and red carpet presenter for the highly celebrated Kora Awards....is also a Social worker and Philantropist engaged in lots of social welfare and empowerment projects and runs the JEGEDE PAUL FOUNDATION which includes the 'Life Fountain Orphanage Home', where she raises and nutures 20+ children.... I can go on and on about the inspiring tenacity of this rather young amazing woman....but so you can make up your own minds....I decided to share with you all, my interesting sit-down chat with her. Here it is.....

#1)  So Victoria, when you have free time... What do you like to do to unwind?

ANS: I like to play at the beach with friends, really play like a child, sand castles, water fight e.t.c

#2)  What is one of your favourite quotes?

ANS: The secret of life is not to do what you like but to like what you do..anonymous, choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life

#3)  As someone who's been a red carpet presenter at Kora awards severally.. What would you say is your favourite body part for the camera!?

ANS: Errr..the legs down to the shoes, I know shoes are not part of the body but as a shoeholic, I always notice that with the legs and how it worn

#4)  If you could learn to do something new, what would it be?

ANS: Alex, I think I’ll learn to sing, I mean looking at how much money these guys are going home with, singing would make sense, but too bad my voice sounds like rusty metal. Lol.

#5)  If you had to work on only one project for the next year what would it be?

ANS: It’ll be a continental fashion reality show or a continental music awards

#6)  If you could pick anyone as your mentor right now who would it be?

ANS: Oby Ezekweseli and my reason is simple….where do you find women who dare the devil to stand up for a country like Nigeria? That is the woman I continuously want to be, hence my respect for her.

#7)  What are the things you accomplished as a young woman travelling and working outside Nigeria?

ANS: 1st of all, I was quick to notice the mark of excellence as I worked with people from different cultures so I imbibed that. For me relationship is important in life, so I made and nurtured contacts across several countries and those contacts have proven very useful to me. I am also proud to add that I was able to change the impression that Nigerians are all dubious because I upheld integrity in all my dealings, henxe the strong recommendations I get from clients all over the world

#8)  You recently chose some celebrities to become brand face for the Lé Braided Couture. Why?

ANS: Looking at the Le Braided Couture brand, one needs to be careful while choosing the faces to represent it, as it is a timeless brand which cuts across age, time, achievements and class. The brand faces chosen are the Amazing Veteran Actor, Bimbo Manuel, The Super Hot and Talented Kalu Ikeagwu, The sexy and Brilliant, Alex Okoroji (blushing), The Multi-Talented Femi Brainard and 2 yet to be disclosed but equally amazing celebrities. These are worthy people that have carved a niche for themselves within their industry and it balances with the brand's high end taste for accomplishment. They also understand high end fashion and appreciate haute couture.

#9) How would you describe the fashion and entertainment culture here in Nigeria?

ANS: There is a lot going on in the industry but there is still lots of work to be done to get us to our final destination.

#10) Between being the CEO of Qtaby events and the Business Development Executive for JB Hounyovi's - Lé Braided and running a Foundation which is more tasking and fulfilling. why?

ANS: It's Impossible to choose one over the other as each of them has its’ place in my heart with it’s own challenges. The Foundation gives life a meaning for me, especially with the kids from the Home, ofcourse it gets challenging when I sleep over at the Orphanage after a hard day and I have to stay up at night with the babies or rush to the hospital at 1am with a woman in labour from the Foundation e.t.c. For Le Braided Couture, it mirrors that part of me that likes to look into the mirror to admire the way I am dressed; ok I love fashion a lot but the challenging side is keeping up with the demands of developing a new brand and living up to expectation for a brand that has had its honors internationally. For QtabyEvents, Events production has become a way of life for me, the staff of Qtaby have become my third family and so it is absolutely fulfilling with the success of each grand event and the clients satisfaction, not forgetting how challenging it could get to put together an event, the sleepless nights and endless meetings.

#11) How do you get funding and support for your foundation?

ANS: For now the funding is 99.9% internal, my partner in the Foundation is the CEO of Japaul Oil and Maritime Services Plc, we share the vision and passion for giving back to Humanity so we do all we can to ensure that our children in the Home have the best that life can offer and God has been faithful. Ofcourse we are open to partnerships that cold assist with funding but for now there isn’t any.

#12) What's the best thing about being a social worker/philantropist?

ANS: Ofcourse I love the fact that I am a mother of many without going through the 9months project….lol. But I think the best part is changing and imparting lives, putting smiles on peoples faces and giving their lives a meaning. It is the greatest thing that anyone could do in life, having people look up to you in trust without reservations.

#13) Mention one incidence that changed your life forever.

ANS: Hmmm Alex, there a quite a number of them o…I should say losing my sister at a very early age to a bad marriage is one incident that has made a great imprint in my life and changed my views about life to a great extent

#14) If you were to advise other young women who also aspire to become Creative Entrepreneurs....what would you say to them?

ANS: I’ll simply advise them to go out and get the men out of business... lol.... but really fulfilling as well as challenging, you find yourself creating job opportunities for other young people as an employer of labour, you are the master of your own time e.t.c, the ladies must stay focused and steadfast, it might seem very stormy at the beginning but in a short whil the lines will fall into pleasant places and it will all begin to make sense.

Now you all know why I'm so SMITTEN with her. And in my opinion, lots of young DEDICATED people don't get appreciated very much for the contributions they make to SOCIETY. So what do you think about my Wednesday Woman Crush, Lovelies? I find hard-working brilliant minds verrrry SEXY. What about you? Feel free to share your thoughts as always....I'm CURIOUS!

And oh! Have A Wonderful Wednesday Lovelies! Muaaah!

FEATURE: The Hedge And Risk Financial Market Report (7)

Have you been wondering about your investments or the money market, with no where to get the right information to track down daily developments within the financial market? Then get your FIX of Today's sponsored feature....The Hedge And Risk Financial Market Report for Friday July 11, 2014

LOCAL NEWS

Nigeria’s beleaguered foreign reserves seems to be gradually regaining its upswing as it rose by $1.030 billion in the last one month to close at $38.136 billion at the weekend. This represents a growth by 2.8%, compared to the $37.106 billion it stood as at June 10, 2014. Most analysts attributed the development to the appreciation of crude oil prices in the international market. In addition, some noted that the moderate demand for the US dollar observed at the central bank’s regulated Retail Dutch Auction System (RDAS) was also influencing the gradual buildup of the reserves. Data gathered from the central bank showed that the current value of the reserves which is mostly derived from crude oil earnings is the highest in the last two months. (Source: Thisday)

MARKET UPDATES

Money Market....

Despite declining system liquidity following Wednesday RDAS and PMA outflows (NGN114 billion), NIBOR declined an average of 13bps across all maturities, with the Overnight rate down a marginal 2bps to 10.61%.

Fixed Income Market...

Amidst tight system liquidity, traders remained on the sidelines in the T-bills market.
Similarly, trading in the bond market was lukewarm with no significant yield movement across maturities. At the monthly bond auction scheduled to hold on Wednesday 16th June, the Debt Management Office (DMO) would be offering NGN100 billion across the 3-year (re-opening), 10-year (re-opening) and 20-year (new issue) bonds. We expect rates to be pegged around last auction levels (11.3599% and 12.249% respectively) considering current secondary market yields of 11.43% and 12.19%. However, with the introduction of the new FGN JUL 2034 (NGN35 billion) instrument, we anticipate the supply boost would support relatively higher yields than prevailing market rates.

The Nigerian Interbank FX Market...

In the absence of strong demand as well as lingering dollar liquidity, the Naira at the interbank market traded flat to close at NGN162.30, its previous level.

Nigerian Stock Market Report ...

Trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on a negative note on Friday as the NSE All Share Index lost 0.40% to close at 42,832.82 points from 43,004.38 on Thursday. The Market Capitalization also dropped NGN14.143 trillion from NGN14.199 trillion on Thursday.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

European Central Bank (ECB) President Mario Draghi’s newest stimulus tool will hand banks more than €700 billion of cheap funding. The ECB President’s targeted lending program for banks will boost credit for the real economy as planned, and as the same time help keep the financial system flush with cash. Draghi may address the topic on Monday July 14th when he testifies at the European Parliament in Strasbourg for the first time since elections in May.

Global Currency Update

The dollar found its footing after Thursday’s nose dive against the yen and the British pound. The dollar rose to ¥101.35 from ¥101.30 late Thursday. The dollar remained flat against the euro at $1.3607 from $1.3603 late Thursday, after rating agency Standard and Poor’s affirmed Germany’s ‘AAA’ sovereign credit ratings. The British pound fell to $1.7106 from $1.7130.

Commodity Market

Crude plunged by more than $2 per barrel on Friday, heading for a third straight weekly loss as investors continued to unwind positions that had priced in the possibility of major supply disruptions stemming from violence in Iraq and Libya.

Gold dipped from 3-1/2 month highs on Friday as stock markets recovered from a selloff on concerns over the health of Portugal’s biggest bank, but the metal still marked a sixth week of gains.

When A Man Loves A Woman....

I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with a SPECIAL friend of mine yesterday....And then he said "Alex don't you know when a man loves a woman?" I went quiet. it seemed more like a condescending STATEMENT than an honest question, knowing how he feels about my INTELLECT. And so I went cold quiet. And he also went quiet for almost 2 minutes.... which is a pretty long time to be silent on a phone conversation, if you know what I mean...Then he broke the silence and said...."Feel free to stay quiet darling. I feel so comfortable even with your silence. it's almost like I can hear your kind heart beating." Hahahah. There goes the BRAIN washing and I burst into WILD laughter. That's a man who knows how to untie the angry knots. I knew what he was doing but I kinda loved it. Not afraid to be expressive, honest and maybe even just a little CUNNING. And yes, I like a man with solid balls. Hehehe.

Okay, I'm not going to claim that CUPID suddenly shot me in the heart .... because to be honest, cupid still has a lot of work to do where I'm concerned. But for those who keep wondering and sending me messages on how to know when a man truly loves a woman....Well, Here are some of the SIGNS exhibited by men who have claimed to feel that way about a woman....

#1) He appreciates the quiet moments with you when there’s nothing to talk about. And it's not because your breath stinks, believe me.

#2) He steals glances sitting across you at the dining table which doubles up as a work-desk each time you bring work home or while he's driving and you're at the passenger seat or while you hang out together with friends. As long as there's no TV screen behind you with a soccer match on, or his ex girlfriend making a seductive walk past. Then it's all for you.

#3) He's not afraid to be vulnerable, expressive and honest with you irrespective of the outcome. Outcome being you could think he's a weak sissy for caring so much....But hey, isn't that what we want. For David to defeat Goliath and the 6 foot 4 man with 6 packs to crumble on our tiny shoulders like broken salted crackers.

#4) He puts your needs before his....even a blind person can see the sacrifices he makes on your behalf. Babe you're not blind....Why can't you?

#5) He wants the very best for you....And the best is usually about what will make you happiest. If happiest means him being selfless and you being selfish. Mean girl! Hahahah.

#6) He's not ashamed to let the world know how he feels about you, because he's proud to have you in his life and happy to be in yours. Especially if the soccer star is on your case and your ex is the president's son. Errr.....oh!

#7) He makes you a part of his short term and long term goals. Short term being right now....Long term being a series of right now until you get tired and give him an ultimatum that includes forever. You dig?

#8) He accepts everything about you the way you are.....baggage and all. Whether your issues come in a cheap raffia bag or a Louis vuitton suitcase....even if you are older, much younger, disabled, an orphan, a single parent, divorcee, widow, tax defaulter or even an ex convinct.

#9) He adores your strength and complements your weaknesses. As long as one of your strengths involves a blow job and 6 hours in the sack....and your weakness isn't his best friend. Please!

#10) He always presents the very best image of you to his family, friends and the rest of the world. Eg....Your perfect double D's and rounded ass. Forget you are the brand manager of a top brand or an accomplished musician. Your ass...sorry, arsenal is his bragging rights.

#11) His love automatically makes him dependable and reliable, because he aims to please you. Ofcourse, he will stop to get you pizza and ice cream  on his way to get some booty from you. You can count on him for sure.

#12) He supports your goals, dreams and vision and contributes to making them successful. Wanna be a movie star? Flips out his camera phone. How about you both record a selfie on the way to his family reunion. There you have it, your own co-star.

#13) He finds you beautiful even when you’re having a bad hair day or when you don’t feel so lovable because you feel fat and bloated next to your sexy sister, or after he's hinted at the stretch marks and varicose veins creeping their way in, yet says "I love you all the same". Walahi!

#14) He burps with you and laughs about it. And thinks your fart stinks really bad but will rather have that to a bottle of Issey Miyake. Liar! Choi!

#15) He loves your natural sweaty musk and doesn't mind kissing your bad early morning breath or even after you've churned down suya or that onion soup and garlic bread. Oh! Don't forget, He ate the same too. Bad breath begets bad breath. Hehehe. Just Kidding!

#16) He feels thankful and goddamn lucky watching you put on make-up and other aesthetic enhancers before heading to work because it never ceases to amaze him how it’s possible for you to look even more beautiful than you already are even if he can't get over his crush for Kim Kardashian.

#17) He loves your quirky randomness, even finds your temper sexy in a way, just as long as you don't blow up at him in front of his pals.

#18) He puts up with your naughty behaviour not because he's a fool but because he loves you too darn much to lose you to an argument. That's not a fool right? Right!

#19) He's not afraid to make some sort of commitment to you and stand by it. Something like "I love you and I always will...." until he spots the fat ass with rounded boobs and gets truly confused...then realises "he loves you but he's not in love with you".Smart pants!

#20) He celebrates your success because he knows your success is also his success as well. Yes! If he unknowingly knocks you up....and you end up giving birth to the cutest baby. Ofcourse he will take credit for that success, Afterall his sperm is one half of the contribution. Lol.

A Man who truly loves a woman is thankful because he understands your VALUE and appreciates that you are an ESSENTIAL part of his life....my silly pun aside.

If the man in your life shows these characteristics....Then Honey, you've found yourself a real keeper. Build on the foundation of his love and show him what it feels like for a man to have the LOVE of a good woman....Ha! Yes! Start with the wallet please. Heheheh.

Have A Fantastic Friday Lovelies! Kisses!

FEATURE: The Hedge And Risk Financial Market Report (6)

Hello Lovelies, have you gotten your fix of Today's sponsored feature. Here's The Hedge And Risk Financial Market Report for Tuesday July 8, 2014.

LOCAL NEWS

The goals of Nigeria’s Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF), which include providing a countercyclical rainy day fund, as well as savings for future generations is being threatened by political bickering and oil revenue leakages. While the SWF announced last month that it made capital gains of NGN1.2 billion ($7.75 million) in the first quarter (Q1) of 2014 representing 0.5% return on total capital of $1.55 billion, the need to grow the fund through regular monthly transfers by the Government has failed to materialize. The Q1 return which amounts to 2% gains when annualized, are inadequate to achieve the funds goals, without regular transfer of excess oil revenue above the budgeted benchmark oil price. MARKET UPDATES

Money Market

Interbank rates advanced across all maturities an average 24 basis points across all maturities, with the Overnight rate climbing 25 basis points to close at 10.75%.

Fixed Income Market

The T-bills market closed the day flat with yields trading mixed across all maturities. With no 364DTM paper on auction at Wednesday’s Primary Market Auction (PMA), buying focus was evident on the 303DTM paper (the longest dated bill in the secondary market). At the Primary Market Auction (PMA) on Wednesday, the Apex bank would be offering NGN70 billion across 91DTM, 182DTM papers – a decrease from the last auction. We anticipate stop rates will hover around levels of the last auction.

Sentiments in the bond market reversed as foreign interest in short dated bonds compressed yields.

The Nigerian Interbank FX Market

The Naira strengthened against the U.S. dollar at the inter-bank FX market. Inter-bank stability was largely driven by dollar supplies by oil companies. It closed at NGN162.47/$.

Nigerian Stock Market Report

The Nigerian equities market witnessed a rebound on Tuesday after declining the first day of the week due to profit-taking. After shedding 0.64% the previous day, the market regained part of the depreciation as the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) All-Share Index (ASI) grew by 0.24% to close at 42,861.78. Similarly, the market capitalization added NGN34 billion to close at NGN14.152 trillion.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

Official data showed that U.K. factory output fell unexpectedly on the month of May, due to a broad based decline. The Office for National Statistics said the monthly falls in the U.K.’s industrial sector are not a sign of weakness in the economy.

However, it is likely the drop suggests a slowdown in the pace of growth a month manufacturers in the second quarter of the year. The data showed that manufacturing output fell 1.3% on the month in May, the first drop since November last year and the biggest decline since January 2013. Compared with May2013, manufacturing output rose 3.7% and has now increased for nine straight months.

Global Currency Update

The euro and pound rebounded from earlier losses against the U.S. dollar to end little changed on Tuesday, as investors remain cautious of buying the greenback given its inability to show a sustainable rally. The pound closed at $1.7138 on Tuesday, compared with $1.7132 on Monday. The euro finished the day at $1.3617, up from $1.3606 late Monday. In other trades, the dollar slipped against the yen, trading at ¥101.47 from ¥101.82 on Monday. The Australian dollar was trading at 0.9409 U.S. cents, up from 0.9371 U.S. cents.

Commodity Market

Brent crude fell for its seventh straight session, hitting a one-month low below $110 a barrel on Tuesday on improved prospects for a rise in Libyan oil exports and easing fears of supply disruption in Iraq.

Gold ended the session slightly lower on Tuesday, as investors await clearer signs from the U.S. Federal Reserve that it is firmly on track to raise interest rates next year.

MARKET UPDATES

Money Market

Following the improved system liquidity on the back of Thursday’s Cash Reserve Requirement (CRR) credit of NGN97 billion, interbank rates declined further across all tenors, with the exception of the Overnight rate which remained flat at 10.50%.

Fixed Income Market

Replicating Thursday’s sentiments, yields in the T-bills market traded mixed for the third consecutive day.

In the bond market, although trading was generally lukewarm with most maturities trading flat, demand interest tilted towards the 13.05% FGN AUG 2016 instrument which saw its yield decline 11 basis points to close at 11.25%.

The Nigerian Interbank FX Market

Activity levels in the FX interbank market remained flat on Friday. At the end of the trading session, the Naira closed at NGN162.75, its closing on Thursday. The currency pair is likely to remain around NGN162/$ levels as the market anticipates dollar inflows from the state-owned NNPC.

Nigerian Stock Market Report

The Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on a positive note on Friday with the market capitalization of the listed equities rising by NGN113 billion or 0.80% to close at 14.208 trillion. At the same time, the NSE All-Share Index gained 0.80% or 344.95 basis points to reach a new high of 43,031.81 basis points.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

Global economic activity should strengthen in the second half of 2014 (H2 2014) and accelerate in 2015, although momentum could be weaker than expected, International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Christine Lagarde said hinting at a slight cut in Fund growth forecasts.

GLOBAL CURRENCY UPDATE

The dollar struggled to make more headway on Friday after a jump in U.S. job creation left stock markets in optimistic mood but did not convince traders it would be a trigger for the U.S. Federal Reserve to move toward higher interest rates. The dollar closed at ¥102.12 on Friday from ¥102.20 late Thursday. The euro sank to $1.3588 against the dollar from $1.3609 late Thursday. In other trades the British pound rose to $1.7160 from $1.7151 late Thursday, while the Australian dollar closed at 0.9365 U.S. cents from 0.9347 in the previous session.

Commodity Market

Oil dipped on Friday with Brent futures dropping below $111 a barrel on the prospect of revived Libyan exports and more U.S. crude soon finding its way to refiners, but losses were tempered by economic data pointing to a stronger demand outlook.

Gold edged up on Friday, gaining support from mixed European shares, but remained vulnerable after strong U.S. jobs data lifted the dollar, denting gold's investment appeal.

Where You Invest Your Love....

Isn't it funny that all the things we want from a great RELATIONSHIP, there's someone standing by ready to GIVE it to us but yet we are blinded by our PURSUIT of others to love us, despite our warped understanding of GENUINE love.

We are controlled by our compulsive FIXATION on that SPECIAL someone we think we need. We spend all our time trying to beg, convince them to love us....like if they dropped dead (God forbid) or ended up with a mysterious deadly disease we wouldn't somehow MANAGE to move on with our lives anyway.

I once read that a GREAT relationship is when two people who love and understand one another come together to create something STRONGER than either of them could ever be on their own. Meaning we don't walk into a given relationship EMPTY handed.

We are expected to come together with our individual VALUES and build something super DYNAMITE. Almost like a business venture....lol. Think about this, India has a relatively low DIVORCE rate and majority of their marriages are arranged as opposed to the many NUMEROUS supposed "Love Marriages" that end up in divorce every other day.....and it makes me wonder.

If one often made bad BUSINESS or personal choices. If a person was one of those self obsessed people who unknowingly like to SABOTAGE themselves, isn't there a chance that this special person we are so pumped about might be somewhat WRONG for us?

Well, there's no DEFINITE way of knowing, but maybe we should try picture them through the eyes of other people, if we don't really trust ours. No relationship is a picnic, one has to come in strong and READY to fight the battles....be hurt and dragged all over but still knowing that life doesn't REWARD the weak.

Teddy Pendergrass sang "it feels good loving somebody and that somebody loves you back" Yea! Still a relationship can't survive on a WARPED impression of love. Some say that love isn't enough....And now I can say, they don't know what they are saying....because they don't know what real LOVE is about. Love is a Decision...It is Kind, Forgiving, Giving, Sacrifice, Compromise, Dependable and It Tolerates all things. If anyone like me is big on commitment and LOYALTY.  That's a sure-fire way to prove one's love.

Just imagine the worst thing that can ever happen to anyone, happen to us, WHOEVER we can PICTURE right there beside us, doing everything they can to SUPPORT us through the good and bad, is who we should really INVEST our love in....because wherever YOU invest your love, is where you invest your LIFE !

Have A Magnificent Monday Lovelies! Kisses!

My Top 25 Baby Making Music....

When I was much YOUNGER, I always thought that to have great SEX, music was a good catalyst....and somewhere in my naivety, my first time was going to be the PERFECT love-making scenario (and mills and booms didn't help) characterised with candles, petals, nice wine, beautiful words and oh....great music in the background. Hahahah.

If I thought that my high school INNOCENT love was the bad boy Chidi, then "Savage Garden- I knew I Loved You" was gonna be my undoing....But No....This young lady then was far too innocent....And then, I thought about how much I had fallen madly in young LOVE with my charming Yemi....And "Case - I'm Missing You" was our love song. And the crazy CHILLS I get every time I hear that song, was indication of the POWER it had to drive me crazy....like crazy dripping....and hoping to be saved by my knight in shining armour, who I knew was missing me too...And, I was sure, I would pop my CHERRY to that song, me flat on my back, naked and ready as he kisses my forehead down to my NAVEL....But Errr.... The ways of Alex are not the ways of the world....Hehehe....That didn't happen either! Chai! I was too stingy with my P or he was damn too loving to take advantage of my little ME....so moving on, the mischievous Olu and I were so crazy about "Tamia - I'm So into You".....Maybe this would be the song I finally drop my PANTIES to....Oh No! Not this? Ha!

And the mofo, who eventually took my innocence....hehehe...well, took my innocence in day light ROBBERY and didn't even give me any fairytale to RIDE with despite the fact that we both loved "R.Kelly - 12 Play" and kissed to it with the SMACKING thud of rain on his car  windshields....and hope that the MIST hides from passerby, what's about to go down at the back seat....yet, all that talk of fulfilling your FANTASY....in 12 play. Choi! No candles, No wine and certainly no MUSIC....And the back seat ain't the right SCENARIO for a first timer... squash and move to another location (Maybe just some little nice words "You are beautiful"...) and viola! My doors unlocked. Mstcheww.... Shaking head for myself. Lol.

Well, if you know me, then you know, movies and books aren't my only CREATIVE fascination. I'm a big lover of great music and my taste in music is super ECLECTIC, as I'm known to enjoy Rock, Pop, Disco, Rap, Dancehall, Jazz, Blues, Reggaeton, Hip-hop, Calypso, Classical, House, Juju, Soukous, Highlife....You Name it, except that if I were to pick a home ground, a FIRST love....it would be R N' B and Acoustic SOUL, mostly because of their great LYRICS, beautiful rhythm and the power of their instrumentation to force you to think and perhaps FEEL.

Some of the greatest R N'B songs or what some like to call BALLADS have so much INTENSITY to shape our moods, that we laugh, love, fight, miss even cry with the composers and singers of these AMAZING songs.

So I recently noticed that, every time I hear Ushers 'Good Kisser' I'm instantly drawn to an old imagery  of one good KISSER, I remember, (and Dang! I could feel his soft warm LIPS the whole day), as my mind travelled and I tried to SWAY to the beat of this feel good song....my mischievous sister, switched the music channel and what was playing? Ha! John Legend's "Tonight"....Ye! O Pari!!! I'm finished! Good Kisser and Tonight in one breath?....and assuming the man I loved was right here beside me....Mbok, we'll be making PLENTY babies tonight. That's for sure. And thats when it hit me like a light switch....

Imagine how many PEOPLE actually made babies listening to John Legend in the background. Yes! Yes! Aha! I Have Learned....

When I first stumbled on the original piece inspired by the late MAYA ANGELOU, I found it so interesting and profound. I have edited it based on my own experiences and understanding of life. It helps me from to time to re-aquaint myself with life's lessons. Hope it does the same for you too....This is what  I'VE LEARNED:-

#1) I’ve Learned-
That you cannot make someone LOVE you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.

#2) I’ve Learned-
That it takes years to build up TRUST, and only seconds to destroy it.

#3) I’ve Learned-
That no matter how good a FRIEND is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must FORGIVE them for that.

#4) I’ve Learned-
That it’s not what you have in your life but WHO you have in your life that counts.

#5) I’ve Learned-
That you should never ruin an APOLOGY with an excuse.

#6) I’ve Learned-
That you can get by on CHARM for about fifteen minutes. After that, you’d better know something.

#7) I’ve Learned-
That you shouldn’t COMPARE yourself to the best others can do.

#8) I’ve Learned-
That you can do something IMPULSIVE in an instant, that will give you heartache for life.

#9) I’ve Learned-
That it’s taking me a long time to become the person I want to be. But eventually I will get there.

#10) I’ve Learned-
That you should always LEAVE loved ones WITH loving words. It may be the last time you SEE them.

#12) I’ve Learned-
That you can keep going long even after you think you can't. You are that STRONG.

#13) I’ve Learned-
That we are RESPONSIBLE for our actions, no matter how we feel.

#14) I’ve Learned-
That either you CONTROL your attitude or your attitude will control you.

#15) I’ve Learned-
That regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the PASSION fades, and there had better be something else to take its place.

#16) I’ve Learned-
That HEROES are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

#18) I’ve Learned-
That MONEY is a lousy way of keeping score. Truly!

#19) I’ve Learned-
That sometimes the people you expect to KICK you when you’re down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

#20) I’ve Learned-
That sometimes when I’m angry I have the RIGHT to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

#21) I’ve Learned-
That true friendship continues to GROW, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

#22) I’ve Learned-
That just because someone doesn’t love you the WAY you WANT them to, doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have.

#23) I’ve Learned-
That MATURITY has more to do with what types of EXPERIENCES you’ve had and what you’ve learned from them... and less to do with how many birthdays you've CELEBRATED.

#24) I’ve Learned-
That you should never tell a child their DREAMS are unlikely or outlandish. Few things are more humiliating, and what a tragedy it would be if they believed it.

#25) I’ve Learned-
That your family won’t always be there for you. It may seem funny, but people you aren’t RELATED to can take CARE of you, love you and teach you values. Families aren’t always BIOLOGICAL.

#26) I’ve Learned-
That it isn’t always enough to be FORGIVEN by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive YOURSELF.

#27) I’ve Learned-
That no matter how bad your heart is BROKEN the world won't  stop for your grief. Get up and MOVE on.

#28) I’ve Learned-
That our background and circumstances may have INFLUENCED who we are, but we are responsible for who we BECOME.

#29) I’ve Learned-
That a rich person is not the one who has the MOST, but is one who NEEDS the least.

#30) I’ve Learned-
That just because two people ARGUE, it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. And just because they don’t argue, it doesn’t mean that they do.

#31) I’ve Learned-
That we don’t have to CHANGE friends if we understand that friends change.

#32) I’ve Learned-
That two people can look at the EXACT same thing and see something totally different.

#33) I’ve Learned-
That no matter how you try to PROTECT your children, they will eventually get HURT and you will hurt in the process.

#34) I’ve Learned-
That even when you think you have no more to GiVE, when a good friend cries out to you, you will find the STRENGTH to help.

#35) I’ve Learned-
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being, even though people are more interested in your REPUTATION than they are in your CHARACTER .

What have you learned? Do share with me....Let's rub off positively on one another and trade thoughts. And oh! Don't Forget to share with others.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

U.K. manufacturing expanded in June, beating expectations and providing further evidence that the Bank of England’s growth forecast for this year should be met. Data firm Markit and Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply’s monthly manufacturing purchasing managers’ index rose to 57.5 in June. That was above economists’ forecasts that the index would remain unchanged from May’s 57.0.

The Reserve Bank of Australia did it again, keeping its benchmark cash interest rate at an all-time low of 2.5% on Tuesday, a decision widely expected.

Oil prices declined on Tuesday on easing concerns of supply disruptions due to the conflicts in Iraq and Ukraine, though markets gained some support from upbeat manufacturing data in China, the world's second-biggest oil consumer.

Gold futures settled higher on Tuesday, with prices marking their highest close in about 11 weeks as turmoil in Ukraine and the Middle East lifted safe-haven demand for the metal. A rally in U.S. equities, however, kept a cap on gains for gold.

Not Fashionably Late....

Still very EXHAUSTED from all the traffic of yesterday. I was trying to get out of one MEETING and make it to one of those last minute spring ups....And I had projected, it will take me just 45 minutes to get there....but eh....after an hour of being at the same spot....I had to call, apologise and RESCHEDULE. This isn't one of those cases of me being FASHIONABLY late...The planet was conspiring to steal my joy....

And the ACHE in my right knee was a constant reminder of the fact that there's absolutely nothing SEXY about spending 4 hours on a trip, that should take 45 minutes at most....Despite Bobbi Brown SERENADING me from my car audio player and my DISDAIN mounting, about to surpass my excitement from earlier in the day. Simply put, the traffic was a BITCH! Hahahah!

Well, I had gone to the JB Hounyovi- "Lé Braided Couture" Show-room and Dang! The high end fashion pieces are just super AMAZING. I remember seeing this gorgeous black male mannequin towering over me, decked in one of Lé Braided Eleganté Collection....and of course Victoria Nkong couldn't stop laughing at my rather obvious FASCINATION with the male doll. I mean, he's tall, black and stunning.

Forget that he is just porcelain....(think of what I could do with a tall dark handsome male in this rainy season.....Choi! I shudder at my WANTON thoughts. Lol). Besides, you all know I like gorgeous any day, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to run my hands down its finely braided jacket or take them off and lay sweet KISSES on its inanimate chest. Hahahah.

My cousin Kachi who doubles as my assistant was already green with ENVY and packing beef against this mannequin who is in fact taller than Kachi's 6'3 inches and I guess, as a young guy, he was also trying to understand the concept of the high end VIBRANT pieces before our eyes.....

Well, madam C.E.O as I like to call Victoria, had invited me to try on some RED CARPET pieces from the Eleganté Collection and I was completely blown away....and oh! Kachi got a chance to try on a couple of blazers....and he was transformed into a MEGA STAR, glistening like 24 Karat gold before our very eyes....Mehn!

This Ambassadorial deal is gonna be fun o......Errr......not to let the cat out....But yes.....yours truly is gonna be one of the BRAND faces for 'Lé Braided'....and I am super EXCITED about waltzing the red carpets in the finest elegant high end COUTURE. Nothing like wearing beautiful clothes that have CHARACTER and speak who you are....not even the frustrating LAGOS traffic, can rob me off that impending joy. Hehehe.

Have A Terrific Tuesday Lovelies! Kisses!
